Glowing appreciations for TWR/ WHEE

TWR: Transformative Wholistic Reintegration

AKA WHEE: Wholistic Hybrid derived from EMDR & EFT
Hi Dr. Dan,

Just wanted to thank you so much for the wonderful experiential workshop recently, at Unity Village. I learned a lot, I observed a lot, and I experienced a lot….it was truly the highlight for me, of the Summit itself.

I love to learn….and I love to be able to use what I learn, not only for myself, but to share with clients. Since I am mainly retired, and I only see clients one day a week, I was anxious to try out what I learned. Even though I wasn’t completely comfortable,(as I typically am not when trying something new) I gave it a try last Thursday (which was my first working day since the Summit).

I explained to my clients that I had attended a workshop and would they be willing to try out what I learned. And, they were…and they did! Of course, by client number 6, I was more comfortable with what I was doing, so my enthusiasm was booming, too.

Most clients had issues regarding anxiety or depression. I did have one client who has physical pain throughout her body, but identified one main one for us to work with (back pain), so I was able to use the “what would your pain be telling you.” She felt better, and as we talked, her pain level went down even more than she originally identified. On ending the session, she said she was going to go home “to talk with her feet.”

I came home that evening, feeling so energized and excited. I used WHEE with all my clients that day, from the ages of 10 to 64. Of course, I will spend some more time following up with your website, but I just had to respond to the follow up email you sent.

Your compassion and genuiness was evident at both the one hour presentation and the full day. As a psychotherapist, I especially enjoyed observing your clinical skills, and have much gratitude for a full day of learning/experiencing WHEE. Thank you for your gifts.

Sincerely,
Rhonda Smith
Dear Dr. Benor,

I want to thank you for keeping me sane during a very dark period of my life. I could not have done it without you.

Thank you!

Relieving post-traumatic distress with TWR/WHEE
June 19, 2008

Dear Dan,

I wanted to write you with respect to the 2 day WHEE seminar that I attended as a participant. Going into the weekend I had no expectations or set any goals for anything specific. My purpose was to attend because my husband asked me to go with him. Listening to you speak the first morning about the concepts of WHEE and sharing your personal stories I felt a strong human connection to you. You made me feel safe and this is why I agreed to let you take me through the WHEE process in front of the group. My motivation was to let go of negative emotions which are targeted towards my stepson sometimes. We are moving close to where he lives very soon and I wanted to let go of this excess baggage. Here is my story.

About thirty years ago I took drastic measures so that I would not have any children. Later when a divorce ended my marriage and I entered into a new loving relationship I lived with a lot of regret over my earlier decision. There was a much grief which I understood but the anger and fear didn’t make sense to me. So I began to search for answers by attending workshops, personal development retreats, seeing therapists and each time there seemed to be some light at the end of the tunnel. When I thought I had dealt with the emotions something would trigger them again. Then, several years ago I began training to be a yoga therapist. This body/ mind work during my training unlocked a door for me that connected my anger and fear to abuse when I was younger than five. My anger, fear and grief just amplified to high volume. I could feel the tension in my body increasing.

The way you worked with me in such a nurturing and gentle way using the WHEE process has been very healing. I can’t believe that in less than one hour using the tapping, affirmations and coaching WHEE allowed me to move from a place of fear, anger and grief with regards to the abuse to one of forgiving myself. That is a place in all my therapies that I have never been. To finally be able to say after struggling with this ‘ I love and accept myself, wholly and completely’ at the end of the process fills me with gratitude. Even when I write this letter I feel emotional but joy for this healing.

The night following my experience I couldn’t sleep as all I wanted to do was tap every part of me, so I got up and journaled.

Thank you for WHEE. Your workbook will be my guide for peeling my onion, it’s a sweet Vidalia.

Hugs
Ramona Rand
Hey Dan.

Great call yesterday. As always, a great presentation! I have been using WHEE for about a year now since I got your book. I had been using EFT for several years prior to that with good results. The Whee process pumps it up a couple of notches and seems to dig so much deeper than just practicing the EFT by itself. Thank you for giving us such a powerful yet simple energy shifting tool! Just thought you’d like to know.

Greetings,

I am a 2nd year psychiatry resident at the University of Arizona who recently attended the Association for Transpersonal Psychology Conference in Palo Alto, California. The conference was replete with intriguing talks and informative workshops, the most interesting of which, for me, was Dr. Benor’s demonstration of WHEE. My motivation for attending this workshop was both personal and professional: being rooted in the desire to learn a technique that would help patients efficiently and effectively and to apply that technique to areas of persistent, personal emotional baggage. Since adolescence I had suffered from performance and public speaking anxiety. Subsequent analysis, self psychological and spiritual exploration provided insight into the cause/condition of this disorder, but failed to relieve the burden. Specifically, one particular botched speech in the 7th grade served as the focus upon which my insecurities would revolve and unfortunately evolve, acquiring an energy of their own. Prior to this trauma, I had been a confident kid, the year before playing a lead in the school play It was this incident that Dr. Benor and I worked on during the workshop. Although I still struggle in part from these anxieties, my experience with Dr. Benor and WHEE, and continuing practice has dramatically lessened their impact on my life. I am confident that with continued practice, all intra- and interpersonal dissonance can be permanently released. What follows is a personal experience post workshop and answer from Dr. Benor about a posed question. My hope in sharing this is that someone else, somehow will benefit.

Dr. Benor

Again, thanks for the workshop you put on at the ATP/ITP conference. I had an extremely interesting occurrence happen yesterday afternoon which I hope you will enjoy hearing about. After the conference I flew home to be with family in Kansas City. My sister, mother and I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. When we approached Brookridge Elementary School, both my sister and mother became obsessed with the idea of touring the building. Initially I felt restriction in my body, as this was the elementary school where a lot of my “seeds of insecurity” were born. Anyway, there insistence won over and I was forced into a position of surrender. The exploration was profoundly rewarding. At one point I found myself on the stage of the auditorium where I had played a lead role confidently in our 6th grade musical, (before the speaking blunder in 7th grade). I felt calm and comfortable on stage looking out over an empty gym as earlier feelings of playfulness and life-zest returned. The absurdity of ever loosing this perspective – playful confidence – made me laugh at all the past miseries associated with lack of confidence in the speaking arena.

So what a coincidence! My question is thus: Does the 4d world of time/perception correspond or accommodate to healing intention? It certainly felt this way for me. It was as if something in the WHEE session triggered this sequence of events to unfold. The experience(s) provided tons of emotional release. I look forward to hearing your comments and to continuing to experience in new ways those parts of my mind/perceptual world that were once frightening.

Very Best
Derek
WHEE FOR PAIN
For many years I’ve suffered from back pain which was incredibly debilitating. In 2011 I was hospitalised for two weeks with pain in my back and leg so severe I could not bear to move. Using pain control drugs I was discharged from hospital but the pain persisted. I remember at one time lying in bed totally despairing saying to my sister “what on earth is going to happen to me. How can I live the rest of my life like this.” I tried many healing modalities, physiotherapy, chiropractic, NLP and I worked diligently upon myself from a spiritual angle. All helped, but the pain was still ruling my life. Then I attended a lecture by Dan Benor in Maleny, Australia. After his lecture I approached him asking if he would do a private session with me. By the end of that session, Dan had helped me access the emotional cause of the pain from my teenage years, emotional pain locked into the cells of my body. Under Dan’s guidance, using the WEE method of tapping, the emotional pain was released allowing the physical body to also release the pain. I walked out of the session pain free. Whilst I have a weakness in the muscles of the lower back area and a herniated disc at L5 which need treatment from time to time, I have not experienced that intense pain in my back and leg since my WEE session with Dan. Life is good. Thank you Dan.

Many blessings to you dear Dan,

WHEE for chronic pain
I work in a multidisciplinary pain management program, and of all the mind/body treatments I’ve been trained in over the years, I’ve found that WHEE provides the largest impact per unit of treatment time. In other words, it’s quick and effective. I now routinely teach it to all of my patients, in both individual and group settings, and have been pleased by its infinite adaptability. I’ve also had some recent success with phantom limb pain, and hope to develop a research protocol to explore this technique further. Great stuff!

WHEE for post-surgical pain
Daniel Benor and I were attending a meeting of the Council for Healing and participating in a mini vision-quest that involved a mountain hike. Dan noticed that I was limping and asked if I would like to get rid of the pain. (A couple years ago while windsurfing, I tore all three of my hamstring muscles from my ischial tuberosity. The hamstrings were reattached to the bone by molly bolts that become tender and painful upon exertion and cause me to limp.)

I responded, “That would be great,” but thinking to myself, “I’ve had this problem for 2 years. It’s ludicrous to hope it will disappear.” Dan then asked me to get in touch with what my leg was trying to tell me. I could hear my leg respond, “I hurt and feel constricted and tight.” Dan said, “Fine, now repeat out loud, ‘Even though my leg hurts and feels tight and constricted, I love and accept myself, wholly and completely, and I know that God loves and accepts me wholly and completely.’ ”

I felt rather silly at first, walking through the woods repeating this affirmation out loud, but after each repetition, Dan would ask me to assess the pain level on a scale of 1 to 10. I first assessed my pain at a level 6, but after repeating the phrase several times, the perceived pain level decreased to a 4, then to a 2. After about 20 minutes, the pain was completely gone!

One might attribute such an occurrence to a ‘mountain high,’ a fluke interaction, or the intervention of some gnome in the forest. However, this pain has never reoccurred with the intensity that it had previously manifested. Dan taught me to listen to my body more carefully and to notice when it begins to feel uncomfortable. “This way,” he said, “your body won’t have to start screaming with pain to get your attention.”

So now when I begin to ‘feel’ my leg ‘whisper’ that it is ‘uncomfortable,’ I simply pay attention to it and repeat to myself, “Even though my leg feels uncomfortable, I love and accept myself wholly and completely and I know that God loves and accepts me wholly and completely.” With one or two repetitions of this phrase, the discomfort is gone and my leg feels fine.

I’ve used the WHEE technique for other problems and challenges, and it is one of the easiest and most effective self-care practices that I have found.

Dear Dr. Benor,
I ordered your book in November because of a knee injury and was very satisfied with the results. I actually had been using crutches and after doing the WHEE technique several times, put the crutches down and went to WalMart (!) to do some shopping! I was impressed.

However, even more exciting to me than that was the use with meditations that I’d written a few years ago. These began to take effect so quickly I was eager to share the information with my clients and others.

WHEE for neck and shoulder pain
Having had the opportunity to be both a host and participant of Dan Benor’s WHEE workshop, I have not only witnessed but also experienced personally the immediate and profound effects of this simple procedure.

My personal tale involves a stubborn pain in the neck and shoulder, which had been recently triggered by homeopathic treatment for a series of whiplashes experienced 10-18 years prior. As an energy worker, intuitive and student of psychology I was well aware of the root psychic cause of this physical distress and had been consciously, albeit intermittently, attending to it over the previous 2-3 months; knowing and respecting my body’s own timing, I fully expected my recovery to be further drawn out until the necessary life changes were in place. I literally had NO expectation of an overnight recovery.

Much to my absolute amazement – by mid afternoon the day following my learning and applying WHEE for my shoulder pain in an evening workshop, I discovered myself to be completely free of pain! I have remained pain free ever since (6 weeks) and have not stopped spreading the word!

Needless to say, I highly recommend the WHEE experience to anyone who would like to change anything in their life; it’s that accessible and universal. Dan’s personable approach, warmth and deep compassion creates a trust-filled and loving space enabling participants to work as deeply as they dare to go! Thank you Dan for this wonderful gift!

WHEE for shoulder pain – a therapist’s report
Hi Dan,

Patient: 14 years old athletic female, (in tears) complaining of excruciating pain in the right shoulder. She is unable to move her arm or even write. Emily (as I will call her) is unable to do school work or participate on the school water polo team.

I asked if she injured her self, she said she was not sure, the pain began sometime after practice. I then asked her if she had a negative experience with a friend. She was surprised and said yes and wondered how I knew that! (I learned this from German New Medicine, Dr. Ryke Hamer).

I explained to her that the brain can cause pain as a form of self protection to prevent her from going into an uncontrollable rage or physically attacking her friend, which she readily admitted was her desire. (I learned this from Dr. John Sarno, The Divided Mind.)

I had her rub the sore spot (under the clavicle) to help prevent any reversals. I then showed her the butterfly hug and began tapping with her on the details of her yelling match. I had Emily cross her arms and tap alternately near the elbows. I did the same on myself as an example for her to follow. You could say that she tapped and I surrogate tapped simultaneously. She was uncomfortable verbalizing, and asked if just thinking the affirmations is okay. I told her it was perfectly fine. She stated that she felt some relief. I then had her address the rage, resentment and negativity in her right shoulder. She felt a little more relief. I then had her tap on the physical pain, releasing it from every cell in the cartilage, muscle, tendons and bone. I then had her affirm forgiveness for her friend and her self. She then had instant and total relief.

I practice acupuncture and I use your method – the hybrid derived from EMDR and EFT. I’m just hypothesizing, but had I used acupuncture, it would estimate it would have taken 3 to 5 visits for the same results.

This process took only 10 minutes. Emily commented that this is amazing and that she now wants to study psychology. I explained to her that what happened here is on the cutting edge of the future in health care.

Stephen Coleman
WHEE FOR PHOBIAS AND FEARS
Performance anxieties
Hi Dr Benor,

I’m a retired teacher and my dream is to in some way help children and teachers and parents to learn tapping techniques.

I’ve had some training in EFT and use it regularly. I also have your book “Seven Minutes to Natural Pain Release” and receive your ezine. Since discovering WHEE, I’ve used the Butterfly Hug a lot and have found it very quick and effective for both Relief and Resolve Tapping. An article by EFT practitioner, Karen Nauman helped clarify the difference. Relief Tapping- for in the moment relief, and Resolve – when you have the time to do deeper work.

I have a friend who has a 10 year old son who is very sensitive and intuitive. She’s familiar with EFT and we’ve talked about her sharing EFT with him to help him handle anxiety and stress, and she has been using it with him. He asks her to tap on him. He didn’t really like tapping on his own.

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned the Butterfly Hug to her to teach her son because it’s easier than EFT and people don’t have to know he’s doing it.

This week she came back and relayed the following experience to me. I was so excited that I was practically jumping up and down. Her son had used it and had results. So I asked her to write a paragraph because I wanted to send it to you.

With B, I had him use the Butterfly Hug while he listed his emotions. i.e.” Even though I’m nervous and scared of getting a cramp and not being able to play football well today, I’m still a great kid”, or “I’m letting it go now.” He repeated this several times on the way to his football game. He sighed and seemed to have a release of nervous energy. He ended up having a great game, had fun, and got the most valuable player award that day.

He didn’t like doing the regular EFT tapping, but seemed to immediately resonate with the Butterfly Technique.

My friend also relayed to me that he liked that the Butterfly Hug was unobstrusive. I also mentioned to her he could do alternate thigh or foot or finger tapping. Or just do the Butterfly Hug without saying anything. Now he’s empowered and has a lifetime tool.

Thank you so much for this amazing technique.

Claustrophobia
Dear Dan,

Thank you so much for following up with the Sept 14 meeting. I was truly blessed by your presence and in particular your work. I was amazed after just 10 minutes of going through the WHEE technique with you that there was such a dramatic difference.

Two separate incidents turned up almost immediately where my claustrophobia was tested and I just could not enter that reflexive mental state nor could I even entertain panicking. Boxed in for an 11 hour flight to England and not even a worry! Entering an elevator and not being able to find the anxieties I used to suffer!

Fabulous!

Everyone you share this technique with has a remarkable tool for life.self-care practices that I have found.

Travel phobia
Hi Dan,

WHEE has been working very well for me [for fear of traveling in a car]. I’ll admit I was sceptical that something that sounded so easy would actually work at all, never mind so well.

I really want to thank you for giving me this tool to use. You’ve shown me a way to access my own inner strength and inner being easily and effortlessly to deal with my phobia, and even my every-day kind of stresses.

With love and gratitude,

WHEE for dental phobia
Brooklyn had been terrified of going to the dentist. She had a serious cavity that required attention but had actually run out of the dentist’s office in tears the last time we took her there. Using the WHEE self healing modality taught to us by Dr.Dan Benor, Brooklyn had a very successful visit without fear or tears. Congratulations Brooklyn!

Brooklyn has also gone on to use WHEE for any other fears or discomforts she experiences, with great success.
WHEE for social phobia
Hey Dan,

I have always been a shower singer. Yet, because of an abusive, oppressive childhood, my voice was seriously suppressed. Consequently, I have suffered from an overwhelming fear of singing in front of others.

I am estatic to report that since using your WHEE method, I’ve had my first singing debut this Thanksgiving Dinner in front of twelve of my closest friends. I am currently singing in front of friends and strangers alike during local open mic nights.

The simplistic genius of your method is that I can use WHEE on my own any time I experience the slightest degree of any other fears or anxieties too.

Multiple fears
Regarding WHEE, well, I have been processing what I’ve learned, sharing it with some patients with very good results. Personally, I have been free from my own neurotic fears, with your help, and have scheduled a trip to Peru in mid September with Jorge Luis Delgado (http://www.andeanawakening.com/store/). I will be visiting Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, and many other Spiritual “Power Places”. Please know that you have been a wonderful teacher and guide. I am certain that I will take one of your workshops some time in the near future.

WHEE FOR SEVERE STRESS
Hello Dr. Benor,

My name is Lisa. I wrote you over a year ago because of hearing about you from an energy healer. He did WHEE with me over the phone and has worked with me over the last year. WHEE, along with my therapist’s prayerful intentions and work with me has literally kept me alive. It saved my life? Yep. If I had heard that I had fibromyalgia from a medical doctor after having been suicidal for so long, it would have sent me over the edge. Since the WHEE experience with my therapist, I have tapped on myself “Even when I didn’t know how, exactly. (I downloaded your E-workbook a while back. I haven’t felt good and have been hanging on by my fingernails but I have been improving. (Borderline Personality Disorder, so they have said, you know…) I do not take medication for the fibromyalgia, I do not take medication as much as I did for any reason, and no matter how bad my PTSD symptoms, I am completely medication free for that as well. THANK YOU doesn’t even begin to say how grateful I am.

I feel more independent with WHEE and I will never EVER forget how life transforming, life saving, and life empowering I felt … it’s precious… a precious gift. I just wanted to tell you Thanks Dr. Benor. At one point I ask myself “Is it important that I live?” but you know, I can even tap on that and with my intuition, and intelligence as a benefit to me, I know that I can help myself now. It was a bright moment in my life being introduced to WHEE, if not the MOST significant bright moment in my life. Yeah… it was…

With much gratitude,
Lisa
WHEE FOR DEPRESSION
Hello Dan

My grief has gone. I am able to eat many more foods without reacting,
Everyone tells me how amazing I look. Best of all I feel happy.
SO…..well done Dan and a big THANK YOU.

I am doing so well from our session that I do not feel ready for the
next one yet. Please cancel my thursday appointment. In the same way as
I knew I needed a session last time, I shall wait until I feel the inner
prompting.

With best wishes to you,
Laura
Just to let you know I am doing well.

I don’t seem to be going into that deep depression that I do this time of year.

I have been using the WHEE at least once a day. One week I did it more than twice a day for two days as I had a difficult issue with ‘x’ and her fight to gain child support and full custody of her 12 year old son.
She wanted me to get a Dr. to say I was mentally ill, but harmless, and compliant with my medication.
She thought I was selfish for not wanting to do this, it was very upsetting. I told her it was not in me to have a permanent
Record of this as it would be detrimental to me.
She did not like me not agreeing to help her.

It really helped to have the WHEE to turn to, and it seem to keep me from catostrophizing the situation and having a hysterical breakdown over it for more than a few minutes.

Thank you again for introduction to that great tool. I hope to get through this season and many more with less of a “roller coaster” life.

Hi Dan

Thanks for the receipt (I will let you know if they accept it) and the information about the workshop. But most of all, huge thanks for the healing. I have been remarkably improved. In fact, I haven’t been labile at all since we met. I have had moments of sadness, but my tear ducts are no longer trigger- happy. And this week has been quite a test, as I have been working on dispersing my mother’s estate. In fact, her old bedroom set just arrived at my place – one of the things I inherited – and I feel fine. I’ve relayed only that the symptoms I came to you for have subsided, but what I haven’t yet relayed is the buoyancy I feel. I’m quite happy and once again hopeful about my life. I believe that it was not just the WHEE however, but your compassionate response to my unfolding, and your gentle coaching (“Shall we aim for an 11?:)

I have been waxing rhapsodic about the session with you to family and friends, and am, of course, entirely interested in taking the workshop. (I’ll register in early January, just before the cut-off for early birds!) I look forward to perfecting the practice for myself and sharing WHEE with others.

What I didn’t share with you in my last message was how discombobulated I felt after the session, as if I had been rewired and was still feeling the awkward newness in my circuitry. I wasn’t alarmed…it was a sign to me that a profound shift had taken place. The sensation resolved within 24 hours. And of course, I felt the blessing of the healing. I just thought this would be an interesting thing to share with you.

I have continued to use WHEE, especially when I recognize that I am not processing difficult feelings. It continues to help me, particularly as I continue to work with my sisters to disperse the contents of my mother’s estate, a task which, as you can imagine, is replete with emotional triggers. Also, I tried sharing it with one of my daughters, with mixed results. (She felt some relief, but then didn’t want to go much further.) So I’m looking forward to learning how to help others with WHEE at the workshop.

I am grateful to you for reminding me to greet issues as opportunities for healing, rather than burdens. My tendency to be self-critical and thinking that I could have avoided whatever ‘negative’ experience occurred, makes me forget sometimes. Ah, a perpetual cycle of forgetting and remembering.

Thanks again,
Anna
WHEE FOR RELATIONSHIP ISSUES
For those with lingering hurts, angers, fears and resentments from earlier relationships:
I have had your book for a while now and I find it very informative and helpful with many situations in my life.

The pain I had was an emotional pain I had with my mother and it has been deep for many years. I have finally found the help I needed to forgive her and get over the terrible feelings I was carrying for soooooo long, I now have peace and good feelings for her and I am so greatful that it happened while she is still here for me to share some good times with her. I hope this helps someone.

For those who are having difficulty with an ex-spouse:
It is unfortunate that many divorces end with a host of negative feelings attached to both parties. There are many reasons that both parties experience less than loving communication practices once they become separated. In my personal experience, the difficulty I had in communicating effectively over the last 10 years, was the result of disappointment, angers, and unfulfilled expectations that I held onto.

Without needing to address many different issues and details, Dr. Dan Benor in one brief session at an introductory lecture, helped me to feel completely at peace with my circumstances with my ex-spouse. As a result of my feelings changing towards my ex-spouse, he changed his feelings towards me. I am very pleased to report that he and I now share loving and effective communication methods to address the issues at hand with our children. We are once again friends, just as we started.

Thanks to Dr. Dan Benor and WHEE, my extended family and I are enjoying a better quality of life filled with love and understanding.

Thanks for sharing WHEE, Dan. I certainly agree that the positive energies we ALL share at Healing the Healers Conference has allowed each of us to use WHEE more effectively within ourselves. Lilja and Elli did an evening session with me using WHEE remotely for a healing/clearing for my mother in law.

While I am unable to use the verbal aspect of WHEE with the little children in my practice, it still comes through for them via the reciprocal right/left, particularly visual tracking and by alternately pulling one arm or leg, then the other when they are in a swing. I know it is working because I do it, then count 123 and let go. The baby swings for a bit and then sticks out his/her arms or legs for ne to repeat it. I am able to combine WHEE with body work in that way and others.

I have also added chanting through the soft spot/crown chakra and through the hand, using long, drawn out soft vowel sounds. All of this is so integrating! So healthy! I get as much from it as the kids do because I am taking in WHEE and chants as I do them with the kids.

Dan, I cannot thank you enough for returning to Iceland to be a part of this wonderful healing community.

Hi Dan,

I taught WHEE to a 6 year-old child. She taught it to her mother. Her mother taught it to a friend. The friend taught it to her (adult) daughter. The daughter is writing a biography of a woman who is dredging up horrific images from her past so she taught the woman WHEE to use while recording her memories.

Thanks Dan. You rock!

WHEE FOR ENHANCING MEDITATIONS
Dear Dr.

For a sample meditation and YouTube links click here.

GENERAL USEFULNESS OF WHEE
Ease of use as an Energy Psychology method
Dear Dan,

I’ve been teaching WHEE at all my public presentations, and people really like it. The hugging yourself is very comforting, and of course the alternating tapping balances left and right brain as well as stimulates all the finger points that we tap in EFT/ Natural Bio-Destressing. It’s a very good and easily learned approach to emotional self-regulation and trauma healing.
Judith Swack
Hi Dan,

I have been acquainted to WHEE through your own posts on Dr. Gallo’s Yahoo group, and have studied it thoroughly with your book. And I wholeheartedly agree with you.

I find WHEE to be the most simple, elegant and efficient Energy Psychology method there is at the moment. I have used it many times to collapse and heal my own issues with stunning results. It goes so fast and is so very gentle. I love it.

I am very familiar with most of the energy healing techniques there are in the field of Energy Psychology, and have been a major instrument in promoting them in France through my newsletter and several books available in bookstores.

Warmly,
Institut Santé et Plénitude
Dear Mr. Dr. Benor:

I have practiced WHEE on 3 people with wonderful success. I am so happy. I have done a lot of tapping using EFT in the past but it just seems a lot less labourious and faster successfully using WHEE instead. I support you and I tell people about your book. I am excited with the fact that this gives people the power within themselves to heal and not outside them at a therapists office. You have touched my heart bringing great joy into my life within moments. Thank you.

Allergies
Thank you for sharing your healing method with everyone involved in the CAM selective. I was impressed with what I saw people experience, and Chris helped me to do a little bit of WHEE at the airport when I was having an extreme reaction to insect bites. It didn’t get rid of the symptoms completely, but greatly reduced them. I found it especially interesting the way the intensity of the feeling as remembered in the past was reduced very quickly.

I have been telling people about your work, and referring them to your
web-site. I will probably be ordering some books in the near future.

Meditation (and Knee Pain)
Dear Dr. Benor,
I ordered your book in November because of a knee injury and was very satisfied with the results.

I decided to put the meditations on YouTube with pictures I’ve taken and music. I put the first one on in February and I had searched your name first to see if anything was on, but it wasn’t at the time. So I went ahead. Viewing has been slow, but very positive none-the-less!

Anyway, today I was doing some viewing and something attracted me to SelfGrowth.com, and I clicked on it because I actually listened to a 1-hour tele-seminar given by David this week, and of course I saw your name and immediately clicked on that. THEN I couldn’t believe the video was about a man who had suffered with frozen shoulder – which my step-daughter has been suffering with for several months and actually called me in tears yesterday. (Of course I’ve given her the technique, but I think it will be more credible hearing it from you!)

So, the flow of Universal energy is so amazing and I just had to write and let you know. The WHEE technique definitely aligns with that intention.
Thank you for your work and for sharing it with others!

Stress issues
Since our September course, I have been using WHEE fairly regularly with clients and I am thrilled to report that they have had success EVERY time in reducing and/or eliminating their issues. Being witness to their healing never ceases to excite me. I remarked to Rob how hesitant I had been about learning WHEE, as I was skeptical if I would ever be able to use it in my practice. To my pleasant surprise, it has helped my clients on a number of occasions. It is such a fantastic tool, on its own, or in conjunction with other holistic methods, to assist in healing the whole self (body, mind and spirit). I could not imagine not having WHEE.

Dear Dr. Benor,

Thank you for the simple and amazing system of WHEE. I took your workshop in Calgary this fall and have been using WHEE on a very consistent basis. The results and the feedback have been profound and heartfelt. The sense of peace that individuals are experiencing is wonderful to observe and they love the fact that they can take it home and use it.

Many blessings for joy and success,

Hi Dan

Thanks for responding to my query. I have just started using WHEE as I have purchased the downloadable 7 Minute Pain Release book and the workbook.

I have successfully used it on myself, on an issue that had not responded to self-EFT. I had a lot of guilt at having spent a large portion of my divorce settlement money on various things for the house and garden and myself over the past four years. I felt like I was a bad spendthrift. Using one intense session of WHEE I have been able to reframe my actions such that I now see that my purchases have set me up so I no longer need to buy anything except food for myself and four cats. I no longer feel bad or guilty and – bonus – this week I have not felt like indulging in any shopper therapy!

Also, before this WHEE session I had been feeling depressed and like I needed to go back on medication. After the WHEE session I have experienced a sense of relief and lightness and the depression has completely lifted! I have felt happy at last! Many self-EFT sessions had not managed to clear my depression. I feel so happy to have a tool I can use everyday including when I am walking.

I felt so happy about WHEE that yesterday I helped a friend with it. We had done EFT together previously but she had not been helped by it more than temporarily. After demonstrating it while we were on a walk together, my friend said she felt that WHEE would be far more accessible and useable for her than EFT had been. Plus she could do it on her daily walks.

Thank you thank you for starting up WHEE – I am so thankful!

Inner Child work
Dan’s WHEE process deeply healed inner child wounds that are now behind me. I’m free from the fear based feelings that caused me hurt, pain and depression in my life. Dan has a wonderful and compassionate approach to self-care and healing, WHEE is an outstanding tool and process that is truly unique and powerful.

General catch-all for stresses
Dear Dan,
Yes, I have used WHEE a lot since learning it in one of your phone seminars. It’s an amazing technique. I’ve used it to help the bereaved, and also in my life for getting rid of impending flu, dealing with tiredness, anger, anxiety, fear, and any other negative emotions that crop up from time to time. I’d love to do a Level 1 Certificate. If there’s a chance you’d like to do one up in the Northwest sometime, that would be wonderful. I did want to write and tell you what a gift and revelation the practice has been for me.

All the best,
Rondi Lightmark
Phobias, migraine, leg cramps
I used to use EFT, but I’m trained as an acupuncturist and was skeptic about the EFT protocol explanation. (To effectively stimulate the acupuncture points, the points need to be given greater pressure and accuracy than what EFT requires). I believe that another (unknown to me) principle is involved making EFT effective.

I had been in therapy for PTSD and EMDR broke through the wall. I noted the similarity in results between EMDR and EFT, but EFT is more effective. I searched the web for any relationship between EMDR and EFT and found your website. I am really, really grateful that you are sharing your discovery freely on the web.

WHEE I find to be more effective than EFT.

I’m not a therapist but use WHEE in my informal practice and I have found it to be absolutely marvelous. It is readily accepted by teens and children, unlike EFT. It seems to have less reversals than EFT. I often do surrogate WHEE in the patient’s presence if the patient is too emotional to do it (with permission of course).

I cured a patient’s migraines in just 5 minutes of WHEE! I have helped patients easily overcome mental blocks, phobias. My mother, 87 years old with a phobia (terror) of heights and mountain roads was cured in one session; she had this since she was a small child. She also overcame leg cramps that she was being medicated for in just one session.

Elderly patients have difficulty recalling the EFT protocol have no difficulty recalling the WHEE technique.

WHEE is destined to make conventional therapy obsolete.

Sincerely,
Stephen Coleman
Skin problems
Thank you, Dan

I have been a reader and follower of your website for awhile – and I have just begun trying your WHEE technique personally. Certainly, the potential benefit of this technique is widespread, among ALL areas of medicine (a statement with which I know you wholeheartedly agree.) I actually read your book on my kindle last week, but wanted to be able to print some things from it – hence the order for the ebook version.

We certainly see cutaneous manifestations of psychological issues (delusions of parasitosis, lichen simplex chronicus, chronic pruritis) and psychologic manifestations of cutaneous diseases (psoriasis, etc) – in dermatology – and I just think your technique is interesting.

You are a WONDERFUL writer by the way – and I really enjoy your easy to read style.

Thanks so much for your wonderful work!!!

Broad uses of WHEE
In late 2002 I began doing a lot of internet research into energy psychology therapies and was in a pretty vulnerable place. I came across your journal during the search and subscribed. Many of the articles were of great support by virtue of their hopefulness, and the quality, integrity and obvious skill/training of the authors. It was a way to feel connected to the knowledge and kindness of experts when funds were low. It also supported my own interest in learning these therapies and offering them as a practitioner one day. I especially appreciated the way you incorporated creativity, the magic of art and the wider Universe, animal healing, etc. It connected on so many levels with how I understood what contributes to healing and to a recognition of our wholeness.

At the time I was having difficulty using EFT as a self-help tool. I found that tapping on so many points sometimes intensified the anxiety or activation I was working with (not activating in the same way EMDR can be, but at a lower level of irritation or impatience). Your WHEE process, the simplicity and especially the butterfly hug and alternate hand tapping on the arms, was instantly calming and became a way to access the benefits of these techniques without some of the drawbacks.

I have not yet read your book, but still use WHEE as you presented it back then and have shared it with friends over the years. Incorporating the hug was really an inspiration, and communicates so much soothing to the bodymind in just that simple act.

It’s great to have the opportunity to share this with you – thanks for asking.

Warm wishes and much gratitude,
J.H.
Stress, depression, stomach ailments
I’m a 48 year old white mail currently incarcerated in a California super maximum security prison. i’m locked in my cell 22 1/2 hours a day. There is no human contact and I’m surrounded in a total negative environment. This prison was built to psychologically break inmates through a technic called sensory deprivation, which is just a fancy word for psychological torture. In September, 2008 I was asked by my pen pal to conduct a series of test using 3 different Energy self-healing technics… I conducted these test by using each one of these technics for a three week time period separately. I used them for both emotional (i.e. stress, depression, etc) and physical (i.e. gastro and hand) ailments. At the conclusion of these test I determined that the WHEE method worked best for me and I continue to use it daily. I stronger recommend this technic to anyone experiencing emotional and/or physical trauma.

Relieving post-traumatic distress with WHEE

Hugs
Ramona Rand
Dear Dan,

I am continually amazed with the results of the WHEE session you did with me in Phoenix. Every time I revisit the event of losing my beautiful home – I see it as a beautiful memory forever filed in my consciousness as an achievement, to have known, felt and experienced.

Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I see this a powerful technique to offer… I see you unfolding in your new career life as a blessing to all.

In the Light of Spirit,
Mary
(Mary lost her home and all its contents in Hurricane Katrina.)
Hello Dan,

I very much enjoyed and found extremely valuable the workshop with you and my fellow participants.

Items that stand out for me include:
The technique itself is brilliant in its simplicity.
Many opportunities to try a spectrum of variations on the theme of WHEE during the day-long experiential workshop.
Your very soothing and calm demeanor
Ample time for sharing personal experience, and discussion of the breadth of applicability.

I came to the workshop with a personal history of anxiety and trauma and a clientele who is similarly affected.

I want to share with you that a quality I have chosen to cultivate in my life this year is ‘ease’. I remind myself of this intention daily and I have been working with my own trauma for the past year or so. Starting with Peter Levine’s work, shamanism (specifically soul retrieval), EFT and now WHEE, I believe I am manifesting more ease in my life. I thank you for developing and sharing such a powerful and simple tool.

I’ll admit to personally and currently using WHEE expediently to ‘turn down the volume’ on many of the issues clamoring for my energy. In other words, my approach has been much less than systematic and often in the car rather than with my journal in front of me. It occurs to me as I write this that a prevailing feeling of overwhelm is probably the very next thing that would be wise for me to address with WHEE, and perhaps use that issue as the first from a systematic and structured approach.

In summary, I would say the WHEE workshop was well worth the time and money spent

I am very interested in ongoing monthly phone calls on the uses of WHEE. Please let me know the details.

All the best,
Annie
My name is Kathryn Morrow and on Feb. 15th I was blessed to have Dr. Dan Benor on my show, Tomorrows health @ www.healthylife.net. We used me as an example of his Whee technique. I had an abusive dental experience 8 years prior to my meeting Dr. Benor. There was a lot of pain on an emotional & physical level. Also, I felt very let down by the Dental Community.

Dr. Benor and I used this situation as an example for his Whee technique. Throughout the years I have been releasing this situation prior to my WHEE experience. But as I learned today there was still some more letting go that was needed to be done. We said an affirmation together while my body was positioned and moved in a certain way. I instantly felt a huge release of what I still had been holding onto.

I have continued each day to use the Whee technique with great results. This technique has enabled me to open the door to a new spiritual healer who is helping me release the physical toxins from my mouth. The WHEE technique enabled me to finally let go of the emotional pain, a pain I still was carrying. This new open space now is filled with love and light which hopefully has made room for a complete healing.

Thank you and bless you Dr. Dan!

Dear Dan and Martina,

Thank you so very much for your gentle and inspiring seminar.

You have greatly encouraged me to do the things that I know work, and enjoy doing, but have been a bit reluctant to use because they are a bit out there!
In particular, thank you for the gift of WHEE, which I have used many times in the last week, with amazing results.

One lady in particular rang me from her town about an hour away. She was very distressed about issues related to childhood abuse. I instructed her in the technique, which she performed there and then, and she started to cry, which she had never been able to do. She came today to tell me that she feels heaps better!

All this week the many patients I see with anxiety disorders have been amazed and delighted with the results we have been getting.

Thank you again.

Kindest regards,
Dr. Ann Miller (General Practitioner, Australia)
Dan,

I’ve been meaning to update you on my experience with WHEE and several clients. Overall, it has been well received and very effective. In situations where things have not progressed, I have worked as you suggested with tweaking the various steps.

Here are some examples of recent cases:

PTSD for [middle aged person] who discovered his/her [spouse’s] body at home after s/he committed suicide. S/he states that now s/he can go to sleep at night and the images are not there.

Migraine relief in a [middle aged person] who stated “this really helped me break a cycle I had been in with migraines.”

Many thanks! Looking forward to joining a supervision group if you start one….

Dan,

I’ve been meaning to email you for some time

I took your introductory teleconference for learning WHEE several months ago. (I’m a HOLOS student, and am interested in different modalities.) I wanted to tell you how I’ve been using it.

During my morning meditations, I often focus on a spiritual principle, stated as an affirmation for my life — e.g., “I am fully aligned with my soul’s purpose.” After the teleconference, I started using WHEE at the beginning of my meditations. It works wonderfully because it gets me focused more quickly (and fully) on the principle. Then, I can allow for whatever comes up in relation to it.

I didn’t know if you’d seen this application of WHEE, so thought I’d share it with you. I’ve appreciated using the process. Thanks.

General observations about WHEE
Rondi –

I just spent the last half hour using this WHEE technique for a whole string of thoughts that have been deeply troubling, and it is amazing. It is giving me so much relief, and I’m able to feel relaxed and at ease, which I haven’t been able to do for months. Thank you so much for sending it today. I love you,
Jan
(Jan was taught WHEE by Rondi, who learned this self-healing technique at a telephone workshop.)
I can report that almost all the folks I’ve had opportunity to teach it to actually USE IT because of it’s ease, unobtrusiveness, and effectiveness–very different than other techniques which work fine, but no one uses them because they can’t get off alone and find 15-20 minutes to do them, so they just don’t bother.

Long-term effects of WHEE
Dan, I have had incredible success with WHEE personally. I use if often. What I am noticing over a prolonged period that I am overall a lot more calm. I was talking to my friend Libby last night trying to figure out why I am not getting so upset these days about things. I really think it is because I use WHEE almost everyday even when I get upset just a little. It is excellent for anxiety management and to reduce stress.

Here is an example of a time when I would have blown a gasket in the past. Over the last couple of months I have been working on a paper for school. While I was working on it I went to the end of my document to reference an endnote. I realized in my transferring the document to a new file I lost the whole reference page. This page included all of the page numbers and specific books and papers that my quotes came from in the paper. The amazing thing is that I had little or no reaction when it actually registered that I lost that whole page. It meant that I would have to spend several hours going back through all of the books and papers to find the quotes again. In the past I would have had a reaction resembling a melt down. This time I remained calm and took it as an indication that I must have missed something that the Universe wanted me to write about. It was great. I attribute the non-reaction to the continued use of WHEE over an extended period of time.

Thanks Dan for teaching me this process.

We all witnessed the success of WHEE experiential exercises successfully releasing physical and psychological pains, stress, and residual hurts from the past. Brian [a surgeon] experienced relief from years of low-back pain in one fifteen-minute session. Thora had persistent thoracic, cervical, and head pain from a car accident fifteen years ago. Dan

I learned WHEE from your free short video and free articles on your website.

I find WHEE, in it’s niche, as the most powerful of all techniques I know (so are all the others in their niches!). I find I need to define a Feeling. WHEE doesn’t work so well for me with problems that don’t have an associated feeling. So for example if I had a problem like I’d use EFT for “Even though there’s something about this that I don’t understand, and I’d like to understand it more – I wonder if there’s anything I can do?” – I’d have to use EFT, I find WHEE useless for this. But if there’s distress, or if I can focus on the involved feeling, even if I can’t put it into words, WHEE is super at dissolving it. WHEE also doesn’t seem to work directly for pain – only if I label the possible feeling first. EFT can work directly on the labelled pain eg it makes the metaphoric connection itself sometimes, or it sparks the imagination. But sometimes I’ve found a way in to when WHEE doesn’t directly work. For example, when I was upset but I couldn’t name the feeling (perhaps that feeling has no name yet?) I got myself involved in the distressing event and simultaneously said “Even though I feel SOMETHING about SOMETHING, I love and accept myself, and G-d loves and accepts me completely and unconditionally, and He agrees with me, and trusts me” – well, lots of dynamics changed there. Bad feelings dissolved. Perhaps I should not say bad feelings dissolving, it’s more complicated feelings resolving. As resolved into their component parts, they can be dealt with, as a hard knot it just hurts. When I say resolved, it’s not just words. Whole events came into being that didn’t seem like they were there before.

Since then I use EFT a lot, much more than WHEE, because it helps me explore when I don’t know the feelings. But I know I can rely on WHEE too, for what it does, when it does it, it’s miraculous. It’s like a toolbox, each thing works well in it’s way, you can use a chisel for a screwdriver, but the more tools you have, the faster you can operate. Perhaps others know how to use one technique for everything, but I prefer to learn the new aspects of each technique and inventor, rather than reinvent the wheel.

I think WHEE’s effectiveness may be connected to joining different sides of the brain. Or, it may be connected to *the act of joining* the different sides of the brain, as well as the brain ending up more joined. It may be a reminder to see the problem from multiple dimensions. It may be connected to the combination of
a) connecting a problem to the body,
b) realizing there are various aspects of the problem, and focusing on them one at a time,
c) couching the problem within a larger picture,
d) believing in solutions,
e) trying for a solution,
f) believing in G-d’s love for us, and trust in us as individuals, and in His encouraging us to make changes for the better, to be brave.

Thank you ever so much, [‘X’], for your very keenly observed comments. Much appreciated! Your permission to post these on the Testimonials page is also appreciated. Can you also add a few words on how you learned WHEE?

I am truly intrigued by the differences you note between your uses of WHEE and EFT.

I too have found that WHEE works best when the focus is on the feelings/emotions. As I understand it, WHEE opens ‘file drawers’ in the unconscious mind where feelings are stored.

Have you approached WHEE with the understanding that if an issue does not reduce its intensity, you can:
– Massage the collarbone point
– Rephrase the focus statement
e.g. “Even though I am feeling _____ but I don’t know why I’m feeling this.”
or add imagined action or other responses to the focus statement e.g. A man who was angry with his boss
seemed to be connecting well with his feelings but the SUDS did not reduce. Restating it as, “Even though I’d
like to choke him till he’s blue in the face, so he can feel the suffering I’m feeling” worked well.
– Look for meta-issues that may be blocking the release – i.e. Reasons for holding onto the feeling/ belief/ memory/ etc
– Look for similar issues earlier in life that may be sitting in the same ‘file drawer’ (These may be the actual issues that are asking for release, by inviting/ creating the current life situations that are similar to themselves.)
